A week of fun fun fun!

What a week!

We went to 2 new cafes in the West and cant wait to add them to the site.

Watch out for our reviews on Pampered Mummies and Pludo.

We also managed to get out of town - a few times actually.

Jan Juc, Ballarat and Daylesford were on our list and all were LOVELY

Our favourite was Daylesford where we had the absolute pleasure of meeting Allison from Lark.

We had a short stop-over in her delightfully inspiring shop.

A must if you're passing through Daylesford.

Check out our lovely snaps.

Also we popped into the city and visited "The Toy Box" exhibition at the City Museum.

For a small fee of $5 you can step back in time and view a small display of toys from the 1940's and 50's.

Everything from toy trains, pedal cars and vintage dolls.

Unfortunately we couldn't take any photos but believe me when l say it's worth a visit if you love everything vintage.

"Pheww!" - told you we had a busy week.

Feeling Hot Hot Hot!!

l really don't mind the heat.
You don't feel guilty for sitting inside on a hot day.
However l don't like "heatwaves" and thank god it is only 43 degrees for one day.
Not 12!

The weekend was filled with Yum Cha, Coffee and Cocktails.
Don't ask about the Cocktails - I'm still recovering.
l can't bounce back from a hangover like l used to....

So feeling seedy Sunday my hubby dragged me down to Yum Cha in the city, which was a
splendid idea. Fried calamari, dumplings and Chinese broccoli are just the thing
for a fuzzy head.

Bubba came too and was 'king of the castle' in his lovely high chair and was kept amused
by the friendly and efficient waiters of the Shark Fin Inn.

We spotted about four other bubba's too so if you're looking for a hangover cure or a tasty weekend lunch pay them a visit. They are very child friendly.

This little black duck will be drying out this week.

H2o will be my drink of choice!

Cleaning Disaster

Oh dear.
My cleaning days are over - down the drain....
l don't like to blow my own trumpet but l keep a very clean house.
Well l like to think l do anyway.
Dishes are always done, bathroom spic and span, laundry folded....

So today to my shock horror (and there was a witness which even made it worse) as l was vacuuming behind my couch (which sits hard against a wall) l find a old newspaper.

Must be last week's me thinks.

l hand it to my hubby who is standing behind me while I'm in full vacuum action mode.

He laughs out loud and takes great delight to read the date to me.

2nd of June 2008.

l never going to live that one down.

Don't worry ladies l even scanned it to see "if l was keep it for an article" but no - nothing but old news.

**SIGH**

Wonderful Wednesday!

Hump day!

Bubba is tucked in bed and now it's time for me to hit the keyboard.

Today we are off to Northcote...l know, l know l always hang out in the North side of town - but hey it's just around the corner and next week we are "South" bound - HOORAH!

l have had this cafe's name and address sitting on my fridge for weeks and now the time has come to pay them a visit.

Wish us luck!

Something for the kids!

Kenneth Grahame's Wind in the Willows' has become a classic children's tale of summer adventure, featuring the unforgettable characters of Ratty, Mole, Badger and of course Mr Toad.

Now becoming a summer tradition the Australian Shakespeare Company
returns once more to the Royal Botanic Gardens to present there own adaptation of the story.
With loads of singing and dancing it's a great way to get the kids
outdoors and make the most of Melbourne's balmy summer nights.

Grab a picnic and the kids to relieve some summer holiday boredom.

For info on tickets, times and dates see Ticketek.

Enjoy!

Where did all the holidays go?

Holidays always fly by don't they.

The end of 2009 was very hectic for us and l was kind of glad to see 2010 arrive.

l like a fresh start.

Something about getting a new diary or calender, with clean crisp pages that haven't been written all over with different coloured inks and spelling mistakes...

We have heaps of exciting things up our sleeve for the
website this year and have had loads of emails over the holiday break.

"Thanks for writing to us."

l think the cafe suggestion list will take me a year to get through so please bear with us while we slowly work our way out to your favourite cafe.

We LOVE feedback so feel free to drop us a line.
We LOVE hearing about Cafes, Markets, Festivals and of course stuff about bub.

My bub is no longer a "bub" but more like a mini tornado.
Yes we are walking and don't l know it.
No cupboard, shop shelve or stray dog is safe.
Today No. 1 son was sitting in a waiting room with me, swooped on a young girls shoe and made a bolt for the door.

Least I'm burning off all those holiday calories with all the extra running around!

Stay Tuned!
