It was a hard job but someone had to do it....
We packed the pram on Friday afternoon and headed to "Taste of Melbourne" It's a festival of Melbourne's premier restaurants, where they come together to showcase a selection of signature dishes and wines. Also you can chat with local chef's and sample exclusive menus all cooked with local produce. It's the ultimate dining experience, with everything "foodie fabulous" that Melbourne has to offer.
My highlite was definitely Nobu. We had the Yellowtail Jalapeno with Yuzu Soy - delish! But what made it even tastier was the friendly maitre d' who was just so taken with my wee one. He gave us complimentary sake drinking cups and invited us to dine at the restaurant - mentioning that they are very child friendly. He was very sweet and l must say we will be making a visit - although l think I'll get a sitter!
From Nobu we went to Movida and sampled their stunning Braised Beef with Spanish paprika, saffron and potatoes, which was melt in the mouth! We enjoyed a glass of bubbles at Chandon, a smooth red wine at Vinea Marson and for our sweet-tooth we had the cutest cupcakes from Babycakes.
With out boring you - in a nutshell it was an AMAZING night with loads of great wine and foodie delights. And although there were so many great stalls I've only really scratched the surface and mentioned the stand-outs. Having said that it's a must for anyone loving everything to do with wine and food - put it in your diary for next year. Oh and by the way - VERY child friendly - with loads of room to move and food suitable for even the fussiest of palettes!
